To register for OLLI courses, you first need to enroll in an OLLI membership. Membership is a prerequisite for course registration.

Course registration will open before the semester starts. We will announce the exact dates on our homepage and send an email notification to all OLLI members. 

To ensure fairness for all members, we use a registration system called "The Lottery." This system means there is no advantage to registering early or disadvantage to registering later. 

When you register, you'll be placed on a waitlist for your chosen courses. After the registration period ends, we will review all registrations. If a course has enough available spots, everyone on the waitlist will be admitted. For oversubscribed courses, a lottery will randomly select participants. Most courses with a capacity of 200 or more students are likely to admit all who apply. Check the course description for the maximum class size.

Within a week and a half (or 1.5 weeks) after the registration period is over, all OLLI members will receive an email notification with details about the courses they are registered in. You can also log in to your Lifelong Learning Extended Education (LLEE) account (formerly Destiny One) to view this information. For instructions on how to check your course registrations, please refer to the section above titled "How to Look Up What OLLI Courses You Are Registered In." 

If there are remaining spots in any courses, they will be made available on our "Course Registration" page on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re interested in a course not listed, you can email olli@temple.edu to inquire about any recently vacated spots. For instructions on how to register for courses, please see the section above titled "How to Register for Courses."

OLLI provides partial scholarships for individuals unable to cover the full cost. The deadline to submit a Scholarship Request is Tuesday, April 28, 2025, at 4 p.m. or until all scholarship funds have been exhausted. Upon approval of your request, OLLI staff will promptly reach out to help with enrollment.

If you enroll in an OLLI membership and change your mind, please email OLLI at olli@temple.edu as soon as possible. The cancellation fee is $15 for full-year and spring/summer memberships and $10 for semester-only memberships. The deadline to request a refund is Friday, May 29, 2026.

Volunteer Instructors

A key feature that distinguishes OLLI at Temple from most educational institutions is that our instructors are volunteers. We offer instructors a free membership during the semester they teach and a 15% discount towards a membership during the remaining semesters that year. If an instructor teaches 2 courses in a year, they are awarded a free full-year membership.

Most committees try to limit their size to approximately 10 members. Periodically we send out announcements from certain committees, asking whether anyone is interested in joining. ADD/DROP A COURSE

If you need to drop a course that you no longer plan to attend, you can do so through your Lifelong Learning Extended Education (LLEE) account (formerly Destiny One). Please refer to the instructions on How To Look Up What OLLI Courses You Are Registered In. Alternatively, you can email us at olli@temple.edu and we will assist you with the process.

 

ZOOM COURSE LINKS

Zoom links for courses are sent exclusively to registered members. Links for Session 1 courses are emailed during the week before the session begins, while links for Session 2 courses are sent the week before Session 2 starts. 

For your convenience, we will resend the Zoom link for each course on the corresponding day: Tuesday links on Tuesdays, Wednesday links on Wednesdays, and so on. Each link is unique to you and remains the same throughout the semester. If you cannot locate your course link, please first check your Junk or Spam folder. If you still cannot find it, email us at olli@temple.edu and we will promptly resend it. 

To ensure accurate attendance tracking, please do not share your Zoom link or use someone else’s. For tips on preparing for Zoom classes at OLLI, please refer to our Zoom Best Practices guide.

In the event of inclement weather or other emergencies, please refer to the following information regarding OLLI closures and delayed openings. Whenever inclement weather is predicted, please check for updates often.

• OLLI Closure: OLLI closes whenever Temple University is closed due to inclement weather.
• Weather Alerts: For weather-related closures or delays, please check Temple University's inclement weather alert page.
• Alert Timing: Temple does not have a specific time to post alerts, so check frequently during bad weather or emergencies.
• Delay Policy: When Temple opens at 10:00 a.m. due to a delay, all OLLI morning classes (virtual and in-person) are canceled until noon. Disregard the Temple messaging about in-person classes starting at 10:00 a.m. (this applies to credit classes, not OLLI).
• Instructor Cancellations: Individual instructors may also cancel classes during inclement weather if Temple remains open or is not delayed. Cancellations will be emailed to class members.
• OLLI Communication: Once Temple's closing or delay is confirmed, OLLI staff will send an email to all members.
• Early Closure: OLLI may need to close early due to inclement weather, at which point all classes (both in-person and virtual) will be canceled.
