Parking and Directions

Driving:

Parking:

There are two public parking garages on the Main Campus. Liacouras Garage is located on 15th Street, between Montgomery and Cecil B. Moore Avenues. Parking is $15/entry. Montgomery Avenue Garage is located on 11th Street, between Montgomery Avenue and Berks Street. Parking is $3/hour. In addition to the two public parking garages, Main Campus also has two metered surface lots. The Tuttleman lot is located on Montgomery Avenue between 13th and 12th Streets. Parking is $6/hour. The Cecil B. Moore lot is located on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets. Parking is $3/hour Monday through Friday, and $15/day Saturday and Sunday. Credit cards and cash accepted at all locations.


Broad Street Line:

All local Broad Street subway trains stop at Cecil B. Moore Station (Broad and Cecil B. Moore Avenue).


By SEPTA Bus:

The "4" and "16" buses stop on Broad Street at Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Montgomery Avenue, Polett Walk and Norris Street. The "23" bus stops on 12th Street (southbound) and 11th Street (northbound) at Polett Walk, Montgomery Avenue and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.


SEPTA Regional Rail Lines:

All lines stop at Temple University Station, located at 10th and Berks Streets.

Parking:

Students and Faculty: All individuals at the Ambler Campus are required to purchase parking hangtags. The cost of a student red hang tag is $84.00 for the entire year, white is $55.00 per semester. The cost for a purple hangtag for faculty and staff is $107. Prices are subject to change. Hangtags may be purchased in West Hall Room 101. All parking fees are used t directly offset the maintenance, security, lighting, and other operational costs of the parking lots.

SEPTA Bus:

The 94 and 134 buses run along Bethlehem Pike from Chestnut Hill Loop to the Montgomery Mall, and the 98 runs from Norristown to Willow Grove. If you wish to switch from a SEPTA bus to the TU shuttle, take the 94 or 98 to the Ambler Regional Rail station and wait for the shuttle there. If you want to walk or bicycle to campus from a SEPTA bus, take the 94, 98, or 134 to Lindenwold Ave. and Bethlehem Pike and follow the walking/bicycling directions.


SEPTA Regional High-Speed Lines:

The Lansdale/Doylestown line makes at least one stop an hour from 5 a.m. to midnight at the Ambler train station. The University provides free bus service to and from Temple University Ambler during the fall and spring semesters.


Ambler Train Station Shuttle:

This shuttle connects the Ambler and Fort Washington campuses with the Ambler Station of the Septa Regional Rail System. It operates Monday through Friday and serves as another means to access Main Campus and Center City (Shuttle Schedule to the Ambler Train Station).


Inter-Campus Bus:

During the fall and spring semesters, free bus service is available between various University campuses. Stops are made at Ambler, the Health Science Campus, and Main Campus. Learn more about the Inter-Campus Bus service.

Parking:

There are three public parking garages near the Center City Campus that offer discount parking rates for students. Laz Parking (215-399-2799) is located at 1500 Market Street. The entrance is on 16th Street near Ranstead Street. Parking is $6 after 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and $6 for up to twelve hours on weekends. Central Parking (215-569-3927) is located at 1616 Sansom Street. Parking is $12 for up to twelve hours if you enter before 3:00 PM and $7 if you enter after 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The rate is $8 for up to ten hours on weekends. Standard Parking (215-972-8075) is located at 1700 Market Street. Parking is $12 for up to twelve hours if you enter before 3:00 PM and $5 if you enter after 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The rate is $5 for up to ten hours on weekends. In all cases you must exit the parking garage before midnight to qualify for the discounted rates.


Broad Street Line:

Local and express trains stop at City Hall.


Market-Frankford Line:

The Market-Frankford line stops at City Hall.


SEPTA Buses:

The 16, 17, 33, 38, 48 buses make stops within one block of the TUCC location at 1515 Market Street.


SEPTA Regional Rail Lines:

All suburban and commuter line trains stop at Suburban Station, located at 16th Street and J.F.K. Boulevard. Exit to 16th Street; walk South to Market Street and east to 15th Street.


PATCO Hi-Speed Lines from New Jersey:

Ride to last Center City Philadelphia stop, 15th/16th and Locust Street. Exit above ground and walk four blocks to Market Street.

Parking:

Self parking is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at the Boyer Pavilion Garage on the Health Sciences Center campus. The garage at Boyer Pavilion is located at 1351 West Tioga Street. Parking rates are as follows:

  • Up to 1 hour - $3.00
  • 1 to 2 hours - $6.00
  • 2 to 4 hours - $8.00
  • 4 to 7 hours - $9.00
  • 7 to 24 hours - $12.00
  • Each additional day $12.00
  • Lost ticket$12.00

Broad Street Line:

Local trains stop at Allegheny Avenue and Erie Avenue. Express trains stop at Erie Avenue, but not at Allegheny Avenue.


SEPTA Buses:

The 4 and 16 buses travel North and South on Broad street. They both stop at Broad/Allegheny. The 60 bus travels East and West between Richmond/Westmoreland and 35th/Allegheny. It stops at Broad/Allegheny. The 65 bus travels between 69th/Market and Chelten/Germantown. From Chelten/Germantown, take the 23 Bus. The H and XH buses have routes that start at Cheltenham/Ogontz and stop at Broad/Erie. The 23 bus travels North and South between 10th/Bigler and Germantown/Bethlehem Pike. It stops at Broad/Erie and Germantown/Tioga. The 56 bus travels between Torresdale/Cottman and 22nd/Erie. It stops at Broad/Erie.


SEPTA Regional Rail Lines:

The Manayunk/Norristown line stops at the Allegheny and North Broad stations. The Lansdale/Dowlestown and Warminster lines both stop at the North Broad station. The Chestnut Hill West and Trenton lines both stop at the North Philadelphia station.

Broad Street Subway (Broad/Ridge Spur):

The Broad/Ridge Spur of the Broad Street line stops at the Chinatown stop at 8th and Race on the spur (closest to campus, although service is more limited).


Market-Frankford Line:

The Market-Frankford line stops at 10th and Market.


SEPTA Buses:

The closest SEPTA bus stops are on 8th Street (every corner) and Arch Street at 8th Street (one block south of campus).


SEPTA Regional Rail Lines or Amtrak:

The closest SEPTA regional rail line station is located at Market East (10th and Market), five blocks from campus.

If traveling by Amtrak, a transfer must be made at 30th Street Station to the Market East Station.
