This course begins generally where French Level II leaves off. Students should be familiar with present and past tenses (passe compose) of regular and essenential irregular verbs, transitive and intransitive, as well as the use of the present tense in conjunction with infinitives. We use the venerable college text Le Francais: Depart-Arrivee, 4th Edition, by John A. Rassiass & J. Skulby, and begin with chapter 9. We will cover two chapters in three to four class sessions, but jump ahead to cover the conditional and subjective tenses, which are covered in the final chapters. Rapid-fire oral exercies reinforce grammar and pronunciation. The idea is to have some fun.
