Course Description

The medical-legal partnership (MLP) approach integrates legal services into health service delivery organizations and has been theorized to hold the key to reducing inequities that drive healthcare disparities among marginalized populations. MLPs have been established in 442 healthcare institutions since 1993 and have generated promising evidence relating to improvement of individual/family health status and quality of care. This course will cover practices and key components for the establishment of medical-legal partnership services for different populations and healthcare settings.
