Developing people is an art. When people feel they have the support needed to grow and develop in meaningful ways, engagement and productivity increase. How do we as supervisors balance our own needs with those of our direct reports? How do we build the trust necessary for developing a coaching relationship?
This course will explore the conditions necessary for developing a coaching relationship and give participants a model for coaching and practice using it. At the heart of good coaching is building trust, listening, and developing powerful questions and we will spend time with each of these critical areas. The distinction will be made between performance and developmental coaching, with a focus on tools for developmental coaching.
