Eating Disorders With Emphasis on Medical Necessity Criteria

 

This course is private to PerformCare Staff. Registration on this site is required for all participants.

Certificates of attendance documenting continuing education hours or units will be issued by Temple University Harrisburg. 

This program has been approved for 1 Social Work Continuing Education hour. Temple University Harrisburg is a PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors preapproved provider of continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW/LMFT/LPC biennial license renewal. 

If you are interested in receiving a certificate of continuing education, the following steps must be completed:

  1. Register for this course through this site.
  2. Complete the CE Request Form.
  3. Attend the entire training. 
  4. If attending by watching the training recording, a post-test will be required with a minimum of 80% correct.
  5. Complete an online program evaluation.

Course Outline

Goals:

1. Better understand the range of eating d/o dx’s

2. Gain some necessary medical vocabulary

3. Understand distinction between Bulimia Nervosa vs Anorexia Nervosa

4. Understand MNC criteria regarding MHIP admission

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

1. List the criteria for all specific eating disorder diagnoses.
2. Define medical vocabulary needed for this discussion
3. Describe criteria for Bulimia Nervosa vs Anorexia Nervosa
4. Review and discuss MNC (medical necessity criteria) regarding Mental Health Integration Program admission
