Course Description

Wet Weather Problems in the Landscape: Identification, Prevention, and Management

Professional Development for Landscape Architects

So, it's raining again! Spring often brings wet weather in the landscape. Sometimes too much of a good thing can increase the likelihood of the presence of fungus and rots as well as compaction and runoff. Learn what to look for in the landscape in wet weather, how to prevent problems, and how to identify and manage problems if they are there. We will cover compaction, erosion, nutrient leaching, oxygen reduction in the soil, fungal, blights, and bacterial diseases, leaf chlorosis and senescence, damage to new and tender plants, reduction in vigor, and increased pest pressure.

Notes
