IPS0076 - PDA Enrichment Training for Protective Services: Responding to Reports of Sexual Violence (STOP)
Course Description
Responding to reports of sexual violence against older adults and adults with IDD requires a trauma-informed approach. This interactive, all-day training for investigators will provide an overview of specific considerations for these challenging investigations.
This training is provided as an enrichment course for Older Adults Protective Service Workers and Adult Protective Service Workers.
- Individual registration is required.
- This training is only open to PDA Protective Services APS and OAPS staff.
In order to receive PDA Protective Services credit hours, participants must:
- Participate in the live virtual training..
- Video and audio are required to be on for the duration.
- Certificates will be issued upon successful completion.
- Partial certificates for missing any portion are not available.
Course Outline
Spring 2021 Enrichment:
- Presented as a live virtual training via Zoom Meeting platform.
- Zoom link will be sent one week prior to registered participants. Link cannot be shared.
- There are no prerequisite coursework assignments.
- Training materials will be emailed to registered participants one week prior to the training date. Printing of the materials is not required.

Learner Outcomes

Technology Requirement
- Audio and video ARE required for live trainings on the Zoom platform. Cameras must be turned on for the duration of the training.
You must have the hardware (desktop or laptop, tablet or smartphone) and software (Browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Microsoft Edge) to access the internet. A broadband internet connection (DSL, cable, fiber, etc.) is recommended with a hardwired Ethernet cable. Wireless (Wi-Fi) connections may be utilized but a weak or congested signal may cause issues with video buffering or content access.
