Course Description

Plan a simulated social justice coalition focused on key youth activist issues such as anti-racism, climate, and gender and LGBTQ+ equity. You will create groups based on an issue of your choice, and plan an event with a group that has chosen a different issue. You will also learn how to tell your issue's story through photography, writing, audio, and other types of media. Throughout the workshop, you will learn from local youth activists, and discuss scholarly research, and get hands-on practice in multimedia and design. You'll leave better equipped with the problem-solving skills needed to form successful youth activist coalitions in current U.S. society.
