Course Description

The Entertainment Business in London is a virtual, non-credit certificate series open to all currently enrolled Temple undergraduate and graduate students interested in gaining a virtual cultural experience! This series consists of 7 seminars over the course of the Spring 7B term in 2021. Utilizing the knowledge and expertise of Temple instructors, alumni and practitioners who specialize in different sectors of the entertainment industry, students will be guided through current issues the British entertainment industry faces in the 21st century. Students will also examine the differences in workplace culture, etiquette and communication between the United States and the UK. As a part of this series, students will conclude their experience by participating in a cultural activity that will enhance their cultural understanding of London and the entertainment industry. Students will receive a Global Communication Professional Certificate upon completion of this series.

This series will explore:

  • The British music and recording industry on a global scale
  • Issues in Media Management and Marketing in London
  • Broadcast News and Journalism in the UK
  • Film and Television Production in the UK
  • BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) Representation in British Media

Cost: $25 USD (secures space in the series and participation in a culturally immersive activity)

Spring 2021 Dates: Wednesdays, March 10 to April 20, 2021, 7:00PM to 8:30PM EST
