Course Description
This course discusses trauma-informed principles, with an emphasis on cultural awareness and responsiveness. It is intended to prepare participants to incorporate trauma-informed practices in their settings, including screenings, intakes, and assessments. Special attention is placed on the practice of measurement-based care and the importance of safety and establishing trusting relationships with others in this practice.

Learner Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify at least three options for screening and assessment of trauma in individuals;
- Reiterate the importance of safety as a precursor to revisiting traumatic experiences and the integral role of the therapeutic relationship in establishing a safe environment; and
- Compare and contrast trauma-informed approaches, trauma-specific treatments, and healing environments.
When participants return to the workplace, they will be able to:
- Incorporate trauma-informed screening and assessment of trauma in individuals into their practice; and
- Establish healing relationships with others.
