Course Description

This course is Supervisory training that Protective Services Supervisors are required to take annually. This course is reserved for staff that oversee Protective Service Caseworkers.

This training is required under §15.127 In-service Training of the regulations. This training requirement is in addition to 6 hours of annual PS Enrichment. A partial certificate is not available to anyone who does not attend the full 6-hour Supervisors' Training.

  • Virtual Training Link - will be sent to registered PS staff one week prior to the training

 

Training Details

  • This training will be offered as a live class session, via Zoom Meeting
  • Certificate issued for Protective Services credit hours upon successful completion of the training
    • Partial certificates for late arrival or early departure are not available
  • Attendees must be on time and attend the entire training for credit
  • Participants may not be in transit for the duration of the Zoom training

System Requirements

  • An internet connection– broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
  • Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth
  • A webcam or HD webcam - built-in or USB plug-in
  • Or a HD cam or HD camcorder with a video capture card

  • Participants are required to have their cameras turned on, and microphones muted while not sharing

    • Please position the camera so the instructor can see the participant's full face on screen for the duration of the training

Course Outline

The topics for this year’s supervisors’ training will be announced soon!

  • 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Training room opens for participants log in (Participants will be in the waiting room while attendance is taken)
  • 9:00 AM – 12 PM: Morning session 
  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Afternoon session
