Course Description

Course Description:

As clinicians continue to recognize the prevalence and impact of trauma, they are seeing an increased need for evidenced based therapy models that help reduce trauma and PTSD symptoms.  This training provides an introduction and overview of Cognitive Processing Therapy, a manualized treatment for PTSD, from the perspective of a certified cognitive processing provider working in community mental health.  This training will break down the twelve sessions of the manualized treatment and teach clinicians how to utilize the various worksheets present in Cognitive Processing Therapy.  There will be demonstrations of many of the techniques so clinicians can feel supported in their implementation of the material.  Professionals who take part in this training are recommended to be trauma-informed and have a basic understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  This training will not offer an opportunity to become certified but will connect clinicians to resources that can help them pursue certification in the future.
