HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN ECONOMY IN THE 20TH CENTURY

Tuesdays, 10:00 AM-11:30 AM
This course will describe the rise of the Republican Party in the 1920s, the importance of durable goods industries (especially the automobile) in the creation of jobs, the rise and fall of the stock market, and the onset of the Great Depression. We will discuss the election of 1932 and the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal. The course will end after the 1938 Congressional elections, which was the end of the New Deal.
