Course Description

Strengths-based Leaders Impacting Change

Leaders at any level in an organization have the ability to impact changes that lead to a more empowering workplace. As success depends on different types of collaborations, including those with other organizations, the role of Organizational Culture will be explored. In this session, participants will discuss their vision for their team and what strategies they can take to implement it.

Learner Outcomes

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Describe personal leadership vision and compare with agency mission and staff/colleagues’ vision
  • Identify qualities of effective teams and analyze approaches for impacting your team's effectiveness
  • Practice an appreciative inquiry approach
  • Analyze your own opportunity to impact change within your organization
  • Define key elements of strengths-based collaborations

All cancellation/transfer requests must be in writing via email to sbleader@temple.edu and received by the Temple University Harrisburg staff before becoming effective.

 

**Please note: If a cancellation and/or transfer request is not made and the registrant does not attend the course as originally scheduled, the registrant is still responsible for payment for the scheduled course.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation requests received ten (10) business days or more prior to the start of the scheduled course will be eligible for a full refund of fees paid.

 

Cancellations received less than 10 business days prior to the start of the scheduled course will be subject to a cancellation fee of $30.00.

 

Cancellations received less than three (3) business days prior to the start of the scheduled course will not be eligible for a refund.

 

TUH reserves the right to cancel continuing education events due to low enrollment.

 

In the event of inclement weather (applies to in-person classes only), Temple University Harrisburg will make every effort to cancel events with as much advance notice as possible. Notification will be sent via email/CE Systems once a decision to close or delay has been made. In all instances, TUH will follow the University’s cancellation decisions.

 

Request to Transfer

If you cannot make a workshop and wish to transfer to a future workshop, you must submit a request to be transferred in writing via email to Carolyn Truchon at sbleader@temple.edu and the request must be received by the Temple University Harrisburg staff before becoming effective.

 

Transfer requests received ten (10) business days or more prior to the start of the scheduled course will be eligible for a one-time transfer at no cost. Additional transfer requests or requests less than 10 days prior to the start of the course will be subject to a $15.00 administrative fee.

 

Continuing Education - Social Work

To obtain Social Work Continuing Education Hours, please complete the following items:

  • Pay the Continuing Education Fee of $20 (optional choice at check-out; only pay once)
  • Attend Zoom session and complete all required Canvas work.
  • Complete the online request form
  • Complete the Course Evaluation after attending

 

This workshop has been approved for 6.5 continuing education hours, 3.5 of which are via home study, through Temple University Harrisburg, a PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors pre-approved provider of continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW/LMFT/LPC biennial license renewal. Certificates of attendance documenting continuing education hours will be issued by Temple University Harrisburg.
