Course Description

This training is for supervisors only. This training does not replace annual enrichment requirements and PS workers may not attend this training.

Course Outline

The morning session of this training will feature Anne Weisbord, who will provide participants with information on; motivating staff, increasing accountability, time management and providing feedback. The afternoon session will be facilitated by staff from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging's Protective Services Unit and staff from the Institute on Protective Services. In the afternoon, participants will receive tools to assist them in implementing the strategies that were taught in the morning.

  • Individual online registration is required for each person

Dates: Each PS Supervisor will need to attend one of the below trainings:

Day of Training Details

  • Sign in at 8:00 am
  • Training 8:30 am to 4:15 pm
  • Light morning refreshments will be served
  • Lunch will be provided, and this will be a working lunch
  • Partial credit certificates for late arrival or partial attendance will not be available

Learner Outcomes

Learning objectives:

  1. Discuss ways to motivate staff,
  2. Understand things that hinder effective time management
  3. Describe how to prioritize their time
  4. Understand the importance of a work environment that fosters motivation
  5. Assess accountability and measure progress

Participants will be able to discuss the importance of feedback and will understand effective ways for initiating feedback from employees

For your comfort, please be aware it is difficult to maintain room temperatures that are agreeable for all participants, and the room temperature may vary. Dressing in layers and a sweater or jacket is helpful if the room becomes too cool.

 

Participants are asked to turn off cell phones while in the training session. Please step outside of the room if cell phone usage is necessary.
