Course Description

Synopsis:

Reiki, an energy healing complementary health modality facilitates stress reduction, relaxation, reduces pain and aids self-healing. Reiki combined with OT can improve a client’s occupational performance. Common diagnoses and settings for Reiki to be provided with OT are analyzed.

AOTA has supported the use of complementary modalities within the OT profession since 2005. Attunement to Reiki energy, hand positions, and extensive experiential practice with a variety of partners will occur. Individual and group reflection is provided throughout the course. Documentation, billing, marketing and dozens of OT resources will be provided. Recent research documents supporting the use of Reiki are described. Sound healing meditations with crystal singing bowls and vibrational instruments occur throughout the course.
