Spoken English: Words & Sounds aims to help students at the intermediate level improve their comprehension and production of spoken English. In this course, students will work on recognizing, understanding, and producing both suprasegmental (e.g., sentence stress, pausing, rhythm, etc.) and segmental (e.g., individual vowel and consonant sounds, etc.) aspects of pronunciation. In addition, students will develop an understanding of the sound-spelling system of English. Each week, students will practice their skills by engaging in Chatting with Americans sessions.
