TYLER0050 - Figure Drawing: Beyond Black & White
Course Description
Figure Drawing can be pushed far beyond the charcoal and graphite drawings we so often associate with this age-old practice. During this one-week workshop with instructor Kathleen Eastwood, you will be encouraged to work large scale in a variety of media. Investigate anatomy, form, color, and movement as you draw the human figure from professional models. Using pastels, inks, charcoal and mixed media you will expand your skills and develop your self-expression though both quick gestures and longer poses. Join other artists in a supportive environment as you experiment with mixing materials and techniques and explore the dynamic possibilities of drawing the figure! Appropriate for all levels (having previous drawing experience is recommended).
*We encourage students to consider taking both Figure Drawing: Beyond Black & White and the Mixed Media Figure Painting workshop, as the two classes build off of one another and provide a deeper investigation into the figure. Register for both workshops at the same time and save 5%!
