Course Description

This training is designed to equip professionals with the information necessary to be more comfortable talking about sexuality, providing sexual health information, and discussing ways to help people with developmental disabilities have safe and satisfying relationships. Training topics include understanding sexuality, sexual development and disability, answering questions about sexuality, and responding to behaviors.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this training, learners will:

  1. Be knowledgeable about sexuality and other related issues faced by this population.
  2. Be able to explore their own values and attitudes regarding sexuality and people with I/DD.
  3. Be able to communicate about sexuality with people with I/DD and their parents/guardians.
