CPHSSWCE0491 - Pieces of Me: The Intersectionality of Intimate Partner Violence and Disability
Course Description
Through a combination of lecture, discussions, and listening to those with lived experiences, participants of this workshop will understand the ways that IPV and disability intersect. People with disabilities are often victims of IPV and people develop disabilities, both seen and unseen, from the effects of IPV. We will also look at ways we can support people with disabilities in order for them to live their lives including increasing accessibility efforts and workplace/school accommodations. The guest speaker, Stacie Leap, will share her personal experience and expertise regarding domestic violence and living with a disability.Course Outline
