Course Description

Everyone’s An Asset Builder & Sharing the Asset Message:

This workshop, designed by the Search Institute, informs individuals about the Developmental Assets framework and motivates them to be effective asset builders. It also equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to effectively share Search Institute’s Developmental Assets framework throughout their community.

Learner Outcomes

 

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain the Search Institute’s framework of Developmental Assets and the role of individual asset builders
  • Identify the general characteristics of effective asset builders and their own personal areas of strength and challenge.
  • Explain the concept of “circles of influence” and identify the circles in which they have the greatest potential for personal assetbuilding impact.
  • Describe barriers to being an individual asset builder and strategies for moving toward action.
  • Make and share a personal commitment to assetbuilding action
  • Describe key components of the asset framework
  • Identify multiple strategies and formats for sharing the asset message in their community
  • Explore how to communicate the asset message in ways that will address the varied concerns of different community sectors
  • List Search Institute resources that can be used in sharing the asset message
  • Identify and commit to next steps for sharing the asset message

Notes

Limited Registration: This is offered as part of the Healthy Youth PA grant from Department of Health; only grantees are invited to register for this event.

There is no registration fee. Lunch will be provided.
