Course Description

If you think sports is your future, then this workshop on reporting, writing, and broadcasting sports stories is for you. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of reporting, writing, play-by-play reporting, locker room interviewing, and covering amateur and professional sports in writing, on TV, radio and on social media. A least one field trip to a sports event will be among the assignments. And as an extra special feature, you will meet various sports writers and sports figures who will tell their own stories.

This course is available as a Summer Institute/Intensive during Session 1. 

Students attending our Summer Institutes and Intensives program choose one class to attend for the two-week session. When applying, you will first be directed to the Summer Institutes and Intensives application. Students with approved applications will be invited to pay the 10% deposit. You will be invoiced for the remaining program fee.
