CDE1795 - Clear Aligners
Course Description
Clear aligners have become a very popular choice for patients interested in straightening their teeth in the last twenty years. In this course, Dr. Slutsky will present many of the details involved in clear aligner treatment. Basic biomechanics of tooth movement will be discussed. Next, he will explain the steps of the Invisalign process from day one to completion of treatment. Many useful details will be shown, and many cases of various difficulty levels will be presented. There will be an emphasis on the Invisalign ClinCheck, placement of attachments, and details of interproximal reduction. Basics of diagnosis and potential mistakes will be discussed. In house orthodontic software and 3D printing will be demonstrated. What to look for in a finished case will be explained. The lecture is loaded with practical information and tip which you can use in your office on the next day! This lecture is valuable if you are thinking of treating a clear aligner case for the very first time of are an experience practitioner trying to learn more and grow your practice.
Learner Outcomes
Upon course completion, the participant will:
- Understand basic knowledge of the biomechanics of tooth movement needed to move teeth with clear aligners by the end of the lecture.
- Understand all of the steps involved in Invisalign treatment, especially the ClinCheck, placement of attachments, and interproximal reduction by the end of the lecture.
- Understand and learn about in house orthodontic software and 3D printing by the end of the lecture
- Understand what to look for in a finished orthodontic case by the end of the lecture.

Harold Slutsky, DMD
Harold Slutsky, DMD is a Clinical Associate Professor (Adjunct) of Orthodontics at the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. He is Course Director of the Junior Dental Student Orthodontic Lecture Series, the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Lecture Series, and the Second Year Orthodontic Resident Lecture Series. He received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1985, and a Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1987. He is a published author in several peer reviewed journals. In addition, Dr. Slutsky is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and maintains a private practice in both Northeast Philadelphia and Bensalem, PA
