Course Description

This course examines the Psychoanalytic, the Humanistic and the Existential personality systems. The course will predominantly focus on the adjustment process; the coping mechanism used for dealing with the pressure and demands of everyday life. We will explore the personality factors and values that positively influence the development of healthy adjustment. The influence of societal change upon the personal adjustment process is emphasized with particular attention given to the common, normal difficulties currently experienced by many seniors with both their adult children and their grandchildren. Class is limited to 30 students.
