Course Description

Are you an undercover fiber artist?? Do you sew or crochet for fun?? Would you like to hone your skills with an amazing community? Join Us at the Virtual Craft Bar.  There will be a sewing center and crochet introduction. Bring your tools of the trades  to the virtual session.  Dust off the sewing machine, patterns, fabric, yarn, paper, etc. Crafting is a time to DE-STRESS and enjoy creating and learning. Utilize Creative Therapy to find your “Happy Place”.

Projects will be based on things you can make while quarantined.

Let us journey together. This course will allow you to stay home learn your sewing machine and use your materials to sew. We will utilize self drafting techniques and commercial patterns (Simplicity, Burda, McCall, Butterick, etc.). Sewing projects can include mask, caftan,  zipper pouch, etc. Crochet projects can include a ball, hat, scarf, etc. You may also attend in person off site at the sew studio.  Make a product in every course.

Individual support is available by appointment in person.

Instructor: Jimella Monroe is a Certified Sewing Instructor for Burda Style, pattern makers. She has  more than 20 years ’ experience as a crochet artisan.  As CEO/Chief Creative Designer for More Mell, Jimella has taught sewing for the last two years at PASCEP.,  She is also the corporate designer for Jimise4U where she has developed a line of cultural sensitive crochet dolls, “Brown Girl Dolls” that are customized to resemble the recipient of this beautiful handcrafted gift.
