The course will cover how soul music was shaped and the factors that helped influence the lyrics. The course will look at the social, economical, and geographical factors that shaped the music of the era. Finally, the course will focus on how environmental factors helped shaped the music of that time and how the effects are still being felt today. What are lasting legacies of that time period and how do we learn from it?
