Course Description

This course illuminates the contributions of African Americans during the Black Arts Movement. While many people have heard of the Black Power Movement, others have not realized that there was an artistic arm of poets and creatives who desired the same goals. Any successful movement acknowledges that everyone must play their role and contribute their gifts. This course will also examine and analyze how the primary folks drove the movement, but others made and continue to contribute to this day.
