Course Description

Albee and a Mix of Engaged Playwrights

Students will read and discuss a number of contemporary plays. Four plays are by Edward Albee, two by Lynn Nottage, others by Tom Stoppard, James Baldwin, Caridad Svich and Suzan-Lori Parks. The discussion for the first day, Sept. 26, will be Albee’s Seascape.
Maximum in-person registrants: 40

 

Instructor’s Bio:

Lyle Murley, PhD, English, Northwestern University; MA, English, University of Chicago; BA English, St. Olaf College. Lyle was a professor of English at California Lutheran University, chair of the department, and now a professor emeritus. He was professor of the year on two occasions and received the Sears Roebuck Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence.
