Course Description

Marie Sklodowska-Curie, Thaddeus Kosciuszko, Lech Walesa and Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla) represent a sampling of significant figures in history who trace their roots to Poland. This course will provide an opportunity to learn about the history, culture and traditions of Poland as well as its present role on the contemporary world stage. Sessions will examine: Poland’s history; literature, music and film; economic and political transformation; and Poland’s current landscape. Presented by Theresa G. Wojcik, PhD, Associate Professor of Education at Villanova University and other members of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation. 

This course is part of the Lifelong Learning Society Membership for the Spring 2015 semester. All classes take place at the Temple University Fort Washington campus.
