Families: Happy and Unhappy (book discussion)

Although Tolstoy begins Anna Karenina with this oft–quoted line: “Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way,” we beg to differ. Families are alike and differ in ways that illuminate the human condition. Join us as we read and discuss families in these novels by notable authors: Sons and Lovers,  a twentieth century classic by D.H. Lawrence; Another Brooklyn by award–winning Jacqueline Woodson; Mother of Sorrows, a masterpiece by Richard McCann; eagerly awaited Moonglow by Michael Chabon; and the unique and topical We Love You Charlie Freeman by Kaitlyn Greenidge.
