Fox School of Business- Business Language Supplementary Series

The ability to speak multiple languages has been consistently identified as a crucial aspect of intercultural understanding and cross-cultural communication. The Business Language Supplementary Series is designed to give students the opportunity to develop fundamental communication skills in a particular language to be able to express themselves and understand others in professional interactions.  In addition to learning the basics of a language, the process of learning another language is what strengthens a person's cultural awareness, cultural empathy, and intercultural understanding. This seminar series will help students widen their scope as global business professionals, well rounded communicators,  and global citizens.

Topics to be covered: 

-Self Introduction
-Business interview skills
-Meeting pleasantries
-Cultural nuances that are pertinent to business

Business Language Supplementary Series - Arabic

Fall 2024's Business Language Supplementary Series in Arabic will be geared towards students basic or no experience in the language.  In this four session series, students will get to practice and build upon their base in the professional context.  Each session will continue to develop the fundamental communication skills in Arabic to be able to express themselves and understand others in professional interactions. This seminar series will help students widen their scope as global business professionals and global citizens.

-Useful questions/expressions 
-Continuation of business language and pleasantries
-Learning culture through language
