Course Description
This presentation explores comprehensive prosthetic strategies for pediatric and adolescent patients presenting with complex congenital anomalies, dental trauma, and post-oncologic maxillofacial resections. Managing these cases requires a deep understanding of facial growth and development to ensure proper timing, selection, and sequencing of interim and long-term restorations. Highlighted clinical cases will demonstrate interventions for developmental conditions like amelogenesis imperfecta and ectodermal dysplasia, alongside advanced restorative solutions such as tooth autotransplantation and fibula graft supported implant prosthetics. Beyond restoring essential oral function and esthetics, tailored treatment planning plays a critical role in supporting the psychosocial well-being of young patients during key developmental stages. Attendees will gain insight into navigating complex clinical challenges, managing alveolar ridge development, and optimizing implant considerations in the growing patient. Dr. Aram Kim
Dr. Aram Kim is the Prosthodontist at Boston Children’s Hospital and practices thefull scope of advanced prosthodontics, with an emphasis on comprehensive oralrehabilitation for craniofacial anomalies and syndromes and management ofcongenital and acquired tooth loss. Dr. Kim attended the University of California,Berkeley and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering. Shecompleted her DMD degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, then pursued heradvanced graduate training at the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving a Masterof Science in Oral Biology, and a Certificate in Prosthodontics. She is a Diplomate ofthe American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor at HarvardSchool of Dental Medicine and a past president of American College ofProsthodontists Massachusetts Section.
