Course Description: This discussion-based course focuses on three of Shakespeare’s most compelling works: King Lear, The Winter’s Tale and Henry V. Through close reading and conversation, participants will explore the themes, characters and enduring relevance of each play. Folger editions published by Simon & Schuster will be used throughout the course.

Instructor Bio: Wendy Buckingham taught English for 27 years, including a senior elective in Shakespeare. She chaired the English department at Friends Select School for 20 years. Buckingham holds a BA in English from Barnard College and an MA in literature from Bryn Mawr College.
