Lunch & Learn Webinar Series (2026) 

Timely Topics. Practical Insights. Over Lunch. 

The Lunch & Learn Webinar Series offers monthly, one-hour professional development sessions designed for working professionals across industries who want to stay current, build relevant skills, and engage with timely workforce topics—without disrupting their workday. Held live on the third Wednesday of each month from 12:00–1:00 PM (ET), each session features a concise, engaging presentation followed by interactive discussion and Q&A. 

Topics span a wide range of professional and workforce development areas, including communication and business writing, leadership and advocacy, wellness and self-care, proposal and grant writing, public health and community issues, career advancement, and emerging trends shaping today’s workforce. Sessions are led by subject-matter experts, practitioners, and guest speakers who bring real-world insight and practical strategies participants can apply immediately. 

This series is ideal for professionals at all career stages seeking accessible, high-impact learning opportunities, as well as organizations and teams interested in ongoing skill development.  

Each session also highlights relevant continuing education offerings for participants who wish to deepen their learning through short courses, micro-credentials, and professional development events or conferences. Select speakers may also share additional professional development opportunities or upcoming events connected to their area of expertise. In addition, the Lunch & Learn series serves as a networking opportunity, creating space for professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from experts and peers across industries.

Join us for an engaging Lunch & Learn with Rev. Yvette B. Davis (she/her/hers), Director of the Popel Shaw Center for Race & Ethnicity, Dickinson College as she leads an accessible and thought-provoking conversation on power analysis—a vital skill for leaders, advocates, change agents and anyone working with and on behalf of other humans. 

This session invites participants to reflect on how power shows up in everyday roles, relationships, organizations and movements—and how greater self-awareness can strengthen leadership, influence and impact in work driven by purpose and cause. 

The session will conclude with interactive Q&A, and Rev. Davis will also share information about a current opportunity to engage in a community engagement effort led by her and a network of community leaders, along with pathways for deeper learning, including the Community Organizing Certificate through Temple University, University College.

A practical conversation about resetting career direction, building relevant skills, and growing sustainably in a changing world of work.

As the workforce continues to evolve, professionals are rethinking how they grow, pivot, and stay competitive—without returning to traditional, time-intensive education pathways. In this Lunch & Learn webinar, participants will explore how stackable and micro-credentials can support intentional, sustainable career growth in a rapidly changing world. This session invites professionals to “spring clean” their careers through a reflective, capacity-aware approach that helps release outdated career narratives, clarify skill priorities, and build intentional learning pathways without burnout.

The session will be facilitated by Diamond Poyer, Program Manager in Noncredit and Continuing Education at Temple University, University College, and an Adjunct with Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication. Diamond brings extensive workforce development experience designing training programs, internship pipelines, and career pathways through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and employers. Drawing from both her professional leadership and lived experience navigating career disruption due to neurological health conditions, she brings a grounded, whole-person perspective to career growth—helping professionals move forward with clarity, strategy, and sustainability.

Securing grant funding can open new possibilities for programs, organizations, and community initiatives. In this interactive 30-minute Lunch & Learn session, participants will explore the fundamentals of grant writing, including where to find grant opportunities and how to prepare a strong proposal. Designed for beginners and professionals seeking a quick refresher, this session introduces practical strategies for identifying funding sources, understanding grant requirements, and crafting clear, compelling proposals that align with funder priorities.  

Participants will gain insight into common components of grant applications, tips for organizing proposal narratives, and tools for locating grants from foundations, government agencies, and community funders. The session will conclude with a brief Q&A and resource share, providing participants with tools and starting points they can use immediately to begin or strengthen their grant seeking efforts.

She holds a degree in Political Science and Italian from Temple University and a Master of Education from Saint Joseph’s University. Throughout her career in Philadelphia schools, Shari has served as a middle and high school teacher, Grant Writer, Middle School Administrator, Math Department Director, and Testing Coordinator.   

Passionate about expanding educational opportunities, she is the Founder and CEO of For GrantED LLC, an educational consulting firm that supports schools and organizations through grant research and writing, curriculum development, professional development, and academic resource creation. Through her work, Shari helps educators and institutions secure funding, strengthen programs, and create innovative learning experiences that empower students and communities.
