Course Description

Clear, accurate financial reporting is essential for every mission‑driven organization. Financial Statements for Nonprofits introduces the core financial statements unique to the nonprofit sector and shows how they work together to tell an organization’s financial story. You’ll learn the purpose and structure of the three primary nonprofit statements—the Statement of Activities, Statement of Financial Position, and Statement of Functional Expenses—and understand how each supports transparency, accountability, and informed decision‑making. The course also guides you through preparing a Cash Flow Statement, giving you the tools to track how money moves through a nonprofit. By the end, you’ll be able to interpret and prepare key financial statements that strengthen financial stewardship and support effective nonprofit management.
