Course Description

Gain a clear foundation in how mission‑driven organizations operate and what sets them apart financially. This introductory course explores the structure and purpose of nonprofit organizations while preparing you for the specialized bookkeeping skills taught later in the certificate. You’ll understand how accounting principles apply to nonprofit entities, learn the various types of nonprofits and how they differ financially, and find out what legal and compliance requirements guide their work. By the end, you’ll be ready to support strong financial stewardship in any nonprofit setting.
