PASCEP2019 - Becoming a Historical Performer: Techniques, Research, and Practice
Course Description
This engaging and immersive course is designed for aspiring historical performers who wish to bring history to life through accurate, compelling portrayals of people from the past. Students will learn the fundamentals of research, character development, period appropriate behavior, costume, and language. The course blends practical performance training with historical study, enabling participants to perform in museums, reenactments, educational programs, and theatrical production with authenticity and confidence.
Instructor: Dr, Daisy Century- is an historical Performer, performing one woman shows of eight historical women: Harriet Tubman, Bessie Coleman, Mary Fields, Madam CJ Walker, Phillis Wheatley, Cathy Williams (female Buffalo soldier and Hatshepsut. I have been performing for the past twelve years. It has taken me to 32 states: schools, churches, museums, historical societies, colleges, scouts, family reunions and Greek organizations. I bring history alive! My performances are educational, inspirational, empowering and transforming. It is one thing to read about someone but to see their life unfold right in front of your eyes is a cherished experience.

Refunds: Refunds of course fees are issued only if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
Low Enrollment Class Cancellations: Temple University reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a course is cancelled for any reason, you will be notified, and your entire tuition fee will be refunded. Refunds are issued by Temple University, Lifelong Learning Extended Education - LLEE (formerly DestinyOne) according to your payment type. Please allow two to three weeks for processing. You will have the option to enroll in another course. If you choose the option to enroll in another Course, PASCEP administration will walk you through the process. Financial adjustments will be made if there is a difference in the new course selection.
Drop/Add courses. All courses drop/add requests must be submitted to PASCEP administration in writing.
