Course Description

Take a look around you... our world is built out of static objects that IF enacted upon, have the potential for movement, bringing static forms to life. If this is true, then everything can be a puppet! However, not everything can be an engaging and expressive puppet. When designing objects for performance, attention to functionality is key to creating engaging, transformative objects. In this workshop, students will receive an overview of the contemporary puppetry landscape with an emphasis on design for performance and how everything can be alive! We will end with a show!
