Course Description

This class is an introduction to working with metal on a small scale. We will cover the exciting process of lost wax casting, where you will carve a ring design in wax and then use molten metal to replicate the piece in silver. Students will also learn other foundational techniques, such as cutting, texturing, coloring, and joining metal by creating an intricately pierced pendant and chain necklace.  This class is an excellent opportunity to explore the possibilities of sculptural jewelry and wearable art.
