Course Description

Get ready to become an explorer of one of the world's most vibrant tropical biodiversity hotspots, where rich indigenous cultures and hands-on discovery await! Join Temple University's Field Station Explorations series and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for an immersive eco-tour through Costa Rica's breathtaking ecosystems and communities. Not only will you visit CoopeSarapiqui’s eco-friendly coffee plantation and glide through Tortuguero’s remote, wildlife-rich canals, but you’ll also engage directly in some citizen science projects and conservation efforts. Dive into the beauty of Cahuita National Park’s beaches and coral reefs, connect with Limon’s Afro-Caribbean community, and discover the Bribri people’s matriarchal society. This is more than just a tour—it's a chance to actively contribute to and learn from the wonders of Costa Rica's environment and its cultural heart.

The total cost of the Costa Rica trip is $4200 double occupancy (two per room). A deposit of $500 is required to save your place on this exciting trip.
