MUSPREP0187 - SUZUKI: Suzuki Group Class (Ages 5-9)
Course Description
New Suzuki Group Class coming in Fall 2024!
Suzuki Group classes provide opportunities for students to further develop their musicianship skills in the Suzuki approach. Here at Music Prep, we use the standard pedagogical designs of Talent Education/Suzuki approach and Traditional methods in a format that suits the needs of all students. This "Every Child Can" structure sets up all participants for success and progress. The course emphasizes violin, viola, and guitar.
Core components of Suzuki Group class at Temple Music Prep are the student's ability to play Twinkle Variations & Theme plus the parent/caregiver's basic understanding of Suzuki philosophies. The class will build upon any playing, singing, musical games, movement, rhythm, Suzuki Parent Education, and any other foundational material from the Pre-Twinkle course. Participants in this course should have basic knowledge of their instrument and already have their own instrument. Participants can expect to perform in recitals at Temple Music Prep and/or any additional Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association events.
This program is distinct from school strings programs, youth orchestra programs, etc. as we emphasize a specific music education approach, not general music. Upon completing this course, a student should be set up to continue their music education journey with a combined group class and individual instruction, if not already registered.
Pre-requisite of Suzuki Group class: completion of Pre-Twinkle or equivalent course and access to an instrument.
