Course Description

This course is an introduction and overview of Trauma Focused-CBT, an evidence-based intervention that helps individuals and families work through traumatic reactions and symptoms in a creative, flexible, age-appropriate way. This course focuses on working with children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events, as well as their families. Participants will also leave with resources for further learning/training, including specific information on how to pursue TF-CBT specific licensure.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:  

  • Assess the evidence that supports the efficacy of this model; and 
  • Identify the essential components of TF-CBT for children and adolescents. 

When participants return to the workplace, they will be able to:  

  • Implement creative variations for interventions used in this model; and 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of using this model into their specific practice.
