Earn your Strengths-based Leadership Certificate completely online with a combination of a three-hour, half-day live interactive Zoom sessions and approximately three-hours of online course assignments to be completed within three weeks of attending the half-day workshop! This certificate program provides supervisors, managers, directors, and emerging leaders with an opportunity to learn and practice skills leading to a more empowered workplace. Participants who attend all five workshops, complete a final project and present the project at a sixth meeting will receive Temple University Harrisburg’s Strengths-based Leadership Certificate.
Strengths-based Leadership: An Overview
Participants will discuss what defines an empowering workplace and reflect on their own approach to leadership.
Communication Skills for Strengths-based Leaders
Participants will learn and practice strengths-based communication techniques that will improve relationships and improve results.
Culture and the Strengths-based Leader
Participants will reflect on their own culture, how it has shaped their values and beliefs, and what impact it may have on their role as a leader.
Performance Management and the Strengths-based Leader
In this workshop, leaders will practice giving and receiving strengths-based feedback, discuss goal plans, and identify the benefits of using tools to measure progress.
Strengths-based Leaders Impacting Change
In this session, participants will discuss their vision for their team and identify strengths-based approaches to change and collaboration.
Strengths-based Leadership Final Presentations
This course is available to individuals who have completed the five workshops of the Strengths-based Leadership Series. To complete the certificate, participants must submit a final project plan, implement the project for 30 days, create and record a 5-minute video of your presentation that is shared in your Final Presentation workshop via Canvas, and submit a Final Report.

All cancellation requests must be in writing via email to sbleader@temple.edu and received by the Temple University Harrisburg staff before becoming effective.
**Please note: If a cancellation request is not made and the registrant does not attend the course as originally scheduled, the registrant is still responsible for payment for the scheduled course.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation requests received ten (10) business days or more prior to the start of the scheduled course will be eligible for a full refund of fees paid.
Cancellations received less than 10 business days prior to the start of the scheduled course will be subject to a cancellation fee of $30.00. Cancellations received less than three (3) business days prior to the start of the scheduled course will not be eligible for a refund.
TUH reserves the right to cancel continuing education events due to low enrollment.
In the event of inclement weather (applies to in-person classes only), Temple University Harrisburg will make every effort to cancel events with as much advance notice as possible. Notification will be sent via email/CE Systems once a decision to close or delay has been made. In all instances, TUH will follow the University’s cancellation decisions.
Continuing Education - Social Work
Available and optional at check-out. This item must be paid for at check out. The continuing Education fee is $20.00 for one or all five - same cost either way.
To obtain Social Work Continuing Education Hours, please complete the following items:
- Pay the Continuing Education Fee (optional choice at check-out)
- Attend the entire course and sign-in
- Complete the online request form
- Complete the Course Evaluation after attending (must include name)
These workshops (except the Final Presentation) have been approved for continuing education hours through Temple University Harrisburg, a PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors pre-approved provider of continuing education. These credit hours satisfy the requirements for LSW/LCSW/LMFT/LPC biennial license renewal. Certificates of attendance documenting continuing education hours will be issued by Temple University Harrisburg upon completion of requirements listed above.
