This live teacher-led online certificate program is for homeowners who want to make the best design decisions for their interiors, those contemplating entry into the interior design industry, and current designers who wish to brush up on their skills.

Certificate requirements

1. Complete all 6 courses within the program. These courses are being offered virtually via Zoom and will be split between the Fall and Spring semesters. 

  1. Six core courses include:
  • Fundamentals of Design and Layout (Fall)
  • The Effective Use of Color (Fall)
  • Furniture (Fall)
  • Fabrics and Other Materials (Spring)
  • Lighting and Accessories (Spring)
  • Design Project Review (Spring)

          b. Optional course: The Business Side of Interior Design (Spring)

2. Complete all assignments, including a final project.
3. Comply with attendance policy (only 1 absence permitted for entire program to receive certificate upon completion).

Stand-alone courses

You may take any of the Interior Design courses (except for the Design Board review class) as individual, stand-alone courses.
