Celebrating 25+ Years of Transformation from the Inside-Out

Sunday, November 12th to Tuesday, November 14th, 2023

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of the people, institutions, and communities that have been involved in Inside-Out over the last 25+ years. This event will combine the unique pedagogical approach of the Inside-Out program with the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of educators, former inside and outside students, and others from throughout the US and several other countries.

Beginning and concluding at the historic Mitten Hall on Temple University’s campus in Philadelphia, PA, the 25th+ Anniversary will provide the opportunity to meet new friends, connect with old acquaintances, and both celebrate and share some of the many creative initiatives developed over the years.

After a welcome reception Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday will feature day-long programming that will include hands-on activities, artistic performances, workshops, panels, and presentations. Monday will end with an optional dinner and celebration at The Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC), the actual facility where the Inside-Out program began in Fall 1997. Tuesday night will feature an awards ceremony, a keynote speaker, and concluding thoughts as we consider Inside-Out over the next 25 years.

Registration Information:

IN-PERSON vs. VIRTUAL: We anticipate that the majority of participants will be attending in person. However, in order to accommodate as many people as possible, the 25th+ Anniversary will feature the ability to attend some event programming virtually for those who cannot attend in person. The virtual event will be a condensed option that will provide live streaming of a few select presentations. Although we understand that in-person attendance may not be possible for some, we highly recommend it for those who wish to enjoy the 25th+ in full.

SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT: The following prices reflect the costs to cover the expenses of the event. We encourage justice-impacted individuals who may experience this as a financial challenge to apply for a scholarship (see third registration page).

PROVIDING SUPPORT / DISCOUNT INFO: We hope that those with the ability to pay more will consider doing so, as this will help in providing scholarship support for others who wish to attend the celebration. Additionally, we are providing a discounted rate for those who register prior to August 14, 2023.

In-Person Attendance Fees:

• Full Conference for registrations before August 14 (without Monday dinner) -- $225
• Full Conference for registrations after August 14 (without Monday dinner) -- $250
