This application is meant to allow  new students to report their immigration status  to International Student and Scholar Services and for current students to report any change in their immigration status. 

If you area new student, this application should not be completed until after you enter the U.S.  If you are transferring your  SEVIS record, there is no need to complete the form until you arrive on campus. Students who are transferring their SEVIS record are required complete this  form.  Your SEVIS record must be updated to show you have transferred your I-20 or DS-2019 sponsorship to Temple University

If you are a new student, ISSS must  update your SEVIS record with in 30  days of your entering the U.S. You should report your arrival as soon as you  enter the U.S. to avoid any delays that may  negatively impact your SEVIS record.  Students who are transferring their SEVIS record must complete this process within 15 days of the first day of the semester you were admitted for.

You will need to have the following documents available for upload. You won’t be able to provide us with these documents until after your arrival to the US.

  • Passport
  • F-1 or J-1 visa (except for citizens of Canada and Bermuda)
  • I-94 record. Before you  proceed, please navigate to https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/  to obtain your I-94 card. Review the I-94 card carefully. The status listed under "admission status" is that status you must maintain while in the U.S.
  • I-20 or DS-2019, signed by you.
  • Your dependent's documents (if you have a spouse or children here with you as F-2 or J-2 dependents)

If you are a current student who  has changed your status from F1 or J1 to another status, please upload documentation issued to you by USCIS that  documents your  new status.   Your SEVIS record must be terminated based on  the change of status (not a negative termination) . You could experience  travel delays if your SEVIS record is not properly updated.

The form can also be used by new students  who need to report that they in a different  status.
