Set your sights on summer!

Temple Pre-College Summer Institutes are non-credit academic pre-college programs for students going into 10th - 12th grades. You'll experience the academics and culture of Temple University by choosing one full day, non-credit workshop per session that focuses deeply on one topic.

Program Dates- Choose one or both of the following two-week sessions.

• Session I: June 24 - June 28
• Session II: July 8 - July 19
• Session III: July 22 - August 2

Program Components

• Choose a full day, non-credit workshop
• Delve into topics you're passionate about, or discover new interests, through project-based, real-world learning
• Learn about and use Temple University’s resources for student success
• Make new friends in class and through social activities and field trips
• Opt to live on campus
• Earn a letter of recommendation and/or a certificate of achievement based on assessments and student engagement

Program Requirements

To be accepted, students must meet the following requirements and submit the following documentation:

• Minimum of 3.0 GPA
• Copy of High School Transcript or Report Card
• Essay

Program Fee

• $850 for the one-week, full-day session
• $1,300 for each two-week, full-day session
• NOT included: housing and on-campus meals (optional), books and supplies (required for some workshop choices)
• No housing is available in session 1. Housing is only available in sessions 2 and 3.
• Financial aid is available, and students can apply for aid within this application

How to Apply

The Apply Now button will open the application form. You will fill out your contact information, provide more information about yourself, and select your class choices. The total program cost is  $850 for the one-week session, and $1,300 for each two-week, full-day session. This will be billed at the time of enrollment. Deadlines are 2/15/24 (priority consideration), 3/15/24 (regular), and 4/15 (extended). All applicants will be informed if they have been accepted into our program by 3/1/24 (priority), 4/1/24 (regular), or 5/1 (extended).

Generally, international students may attend our summer programs on a B tourist visa or ESTA visa waiver program.  I-20s will not be issued for obtaining an F1 visa.

What Happens Next?

• Your application form will be reviewed and you will be informed of our decision by 3/1/24 (priority) or 4/1/24 (regular). You will have until 4/30 to confirm your enrollment.
• If you want to add campus housing to your pre-college experience, you may do so on the application, or at the time of acceptance. Housing is paid separately.
• If accepted, students will be required to complete the next steps for admitted students
