Set your sights on summer!

Pre-College Workshops is a non-credit academic pre-college program for students going into 10th - 12th grades. You'll experience the academics and culture of Temple University by choosing two non-credit workshops per two-week session. For Summer 2024, this program will be on-campus. 

Program Dates - Choose one or more of the following two-week sessions.

• Session II: July 8 - July 19
• Session III: July 22 - August 2

Program Components

• Choose a morning and an afternoon non-credit workshop in a variety of topics. Half-day options are also available
• Delve into topics you're passionate about, or discover new interests, through project-based, real-world learning
• Learn about and use Temple University’s resources for student success
• Make new friends in class and through social activities and field trips
• Opt to live on campus
• Earn a letter of recommendation and/or a certificate of achievement based on assessments and student engagement

Program Requirements

To be accepted into the program, students must meet the following requirements and submit the following documentation:

• Minimum of 3.0 GPA
• Copy of High School Transcript or Report Card
• Essay

Program Fee

• $1,300 for each two-week, full-day session. This includes two workshops.
• $700 for each two-week, half-day session. This includes one workshop (morning only).
• NOT included: housing and on-campus meals (optional), books and supplies (required for some workshop choices).
• Financial aid is available, and students can apply for aid within this application.

How to Apply

The Apply Now button will open our application form. You will fill out your contact information, provide more information about yourself, and select your AM & PM class choices. The total program cost is $1,300 for each two-week, full-day session. This will be billed at the time of enrollment. Deadlines are 2/15/24 (priority) and 3/15/24 (regular). All applicants will be sent a decision by 2/15/24 (priority), 3/15/24 (regular), and 4/15/24 (extended). This is also when you will be informed of the classes you have been enrolled in. 

Generally, international students may attend our summer programs on a B tourist visa or ESTA visa waiver program.  I-20s will not be issued for obtaining an F1 visa.

What Happens Next?

• Your application form will be reviewed and you will be informed of our decision by 3/1/24 (priority), 4/1/24 (regular), or 5/1/24 (extended). You will have until 5/1/24 to confirm your enrollment.
• Decision email will also include class choices
• If you want to add campus housing to your pre-college experience, you may do so on the application, or at the time of acceptance. Housing is paid separately with an additional deposit to hold your space in the residence hall.
• If accepted, students will complete the next steps for admitted students.
