New for summer 2017!  The Tyler Visual Studies Summer Program welcomes motivated 11th and 12th grade students who wish to experience the excitement and prestige of being among other artists on a college campus of a major University. Designed as an introduction to the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Studies, the program integrates a morning academic course and an afternoon studio art workshop. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to develop skills as makers and critical thinkers, and prepares them for future success in college and beyond. Over three weeks during the month of July students will have the opportunity to:
  • Earn three college credits
  • Take a college course taught by enthusiastic and knowledgeable Temple faculty
  • Learn from experienced instructors who are practicing professional artists
  • Create inspiring artwork in Tyler’s state-of-the-art studio facilities
  • Experience Temple’s vibrant campus, located just north of Center City Philadelphia
  • Receive college admissions support, and insight into careers
  • Socialize with other high students with similar and different interests and backgrounds
  • Participate in fun weekend activities and field trips to Philadelphia’s renowned arts and culture institutions
  • Stay in a campus residence hall, in a safe, supervised program
